I have absolutely nothing to post about tonight. So why am I here? Heck if I know.
Guess I'm just bored.
I've got the head phones cranked up and shakin' my arse (in the chair) to "Best of En Vogue", (You're Never Gonna Get It). OOO BOP! I really like this girl group, they harmonize so well......a gift that I was definitely not blessed with!
I have no musical talents at all and I come from a somewhat musical family. What happened?! My great grandfather was the Royal Music Conductor (is that a musical talent?) under Kaiser Wilhelm. One of my uncles could sing and play guitar. One of my cousins is a singer. My other grandfather could play the spoons (does that qualify?) The only musical talent I have is playing the stereo.
I did buy myself a harmonica years ago. I was determined to learn how to play. How cool would that be?!!! I could see myself pulling out my harmonica and blowing out a wicked tune and having everyone in awe at my raw talent. However.........blowing and sucking on that thing was like sucking on a metallic lemon. It made my teeth cringe.
I didn't give up on finding my niche though! When Caine took up violin lessons in school, I took them right along with him. He would practice (with urging and eventually yelling at him to DO it) and I would practice too. I even learned how to read the music scores! How cool would that be? I could see myself pulling out my violin and horse hair bow, stroking out a wicked tune and having everyone in awe at my raw talent. Well, as the story goes.....that went down the tubes also. Caine absolutely hated playing the violin. The poor kid was having anxiety attacks even thinking about playing. So, out went the violin, the music scores, and my half hearted attempt to learn SOMETHING musical.
Not so long ago the urge hit me again. I was flipping and saw
Estaban on HSN offering a guitar and lesson books. Man, he can play a mean guitar! How cool would that be?? I could see myself pulling out my guitar......................
No, I didn't buy it.
Not sure if I've given up yet.

Never give up...you may find you niche yet!
Personally, I have NO talent as far as playing an instrument or reading music! I just can't grasp it! Samantha on the other hand picked up the clarinet and learned quickly! Go figure!
I can sing okay. I won't be winning any American Idol competitions but, I can hold my own in a choir.
