I'm home
since last Wednesday, I spent 2 weeks with Mom. I'm still trying to catch up with emails, paperwork, our customer orders.....you name it, I'm behind on it. Everything has been so overwhelming, I just feel like shutting down and sleeping the days away. Instead of doing that (wish I could!), I've been catching up a little at a time.
I've started getting all the figures together to submit to our CPA for the Profit and Loss Statement that we need for the hospital charity care thing. Unfortunately, I still have alot to do on that. Needless to say, my record keeping is much to be desired. ::sigh::
Mom has to spend lots of money to down size her finances before she submits the paperwork to the nursing home. She hasn't told Joe yet that he isn't coming home. ::double sigh:: She did finally get an appointment with a lawyer, thank goodness. She can't be signing papers without some guidance and knowledge about the law concerning nursing homes and her money.
We have a savings account together so she insisted that I take some of that money and redo our bathroom (the tiles are falling off the wall in the shower). I'm very grateful to her for this! We got one estimate already and are waiting on another contractor to stop by sometime next week for another estimate. I want to take out the tub and convert the area to a shower only. Lots of shower room! Plus, it would be easy for us to bathe the dogs. None of us take baths, so why have a bathtub to climb over? A shower sounds safer to me anyway.
Plus, tomorrow hubby and I are going out to price a new stove. I'm totally excited about this, even though I hate to cook! LOL Our stove is from the 70's, it's time for a shiny brand new one. I've never had a new stove!! Thanks, Ma!!
On Monday hubby had a doctor's appointment. He was having some soreness in his kidney area, so figured we'd better get him in incase he had a kidney infection. Anyway, our family doctor was in Flordia for the Superbowl. His sub was a very pretty young woman doctor. I'm sure hubby was thrilled to be attented by such a lovely young woman..........UNTIL........she wanted to check his prostrate. ::snicker:: Of course, when she announced this, I decided that this was something that I didn't want to be subjected to visually. I left the room promptly. I couldn't help but giggle while standing in the hallway waiting for her to have her way with him. I'm know for a fact that he was decidedly red faced when he had to drop his drawers and bend over. Gosh, what a Kodak moment.
All in all, things are calming down over here and at Mom's.

Chris - get the tub. It's a better resale value for when you guys move.
WE have thought about taking our bath out of the Master bedroom as well. We never use it. But, others told us the same things as Kate. Guess, it depends on what you really want!
I am glad to hear that you are finally getting settled back at home. Hopefully, it won't take too long for you to get everything caught up again!
Big Hugs to you, Mom and Frenchie!
